Treble Secures $18M for Voice AI Simulation Infrastructure

Iceland-based voice simulation platform Treble has raised $18 million in an extension of its Series A funding round led by Paladin Capital Group, according to a report by TechCrunch. The latest investment brings the startup total funding to more than $40 million since its founding in 2020 by acoustic engineers Finnur Pind and Jesper Pedersen. Existing backers including KOMPAS VC, Frumtak Ventures, EIC, and Omega ehf also participated in the round.

Treble builds infrastructure designed to test and evaluate voice artificial intelligence models, robotics, and consumer hardware in realistic acoustic environments. The company provides a synthetic data generation platform utilized for speech enhancement, noise suppression, and model training. Its customers include major technology firms such as Amazon and Logitech.

According to Pind, audio artificial intelligence presents a significant data challenge that traditionally relies on internet scraping. Treble uses accurate physics simulation as an alternative method to generate training data for sound. The platform also conducts virtual prototyping for hardware manufacturers and tests how smart speakers process voice commands based on device positioning.

The company plans to direct the new capital toward expanding its footprint in physical artificial intelligence, including applications for robotics, automotive systems, and drones. François Ruether, vice president at Paladin Capital Group, noted that simulation infrastructure will grow increasingly critical as a greater number of commercial products rely on sophisticated acoustic understanding.
